Through Rachel's training and work to become a clinical counselor, she has fostered a deep passion for helping individuals, couples, and families process and recover from an array of challenges from daily life stressors to extensive trauma. Rachel’s core belief regarding therapy is that each individual is the expert of their own lives and that it is the counselor’s role to provide a safe and open space to enable each person in uncovering and actualizing their strengths, wisdom, and resiliency through the tools and knowledge she has gained in working as a psychotherapist.
Rachel’s experience includes providing therapy to adultindividuals, families, couples, children, and youth. Rachel’s areas of focus include addictions recovery, complex trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, OCD,
relationship/marital conflict, and sexual abuse. As a counselor, Rachel incorporates specific therapeutic modalities/approaches to counseling that enable her to help each person achieve their goals towards living a healthy and fulfilling life. These approaches
include Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR, and Acceptance and Commitment Based Therapy (ACT). Through these modalities, Rachel incorporates art, mindfulness, attachment focused processing, and exploration of patterns of thinking and feeling as tools in the counseling process.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, taking her dog on adventures, playing volleyball, camping, and spending time outdoors (rain or shine!).
Rachel is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#18899). She also completed a BA in Psychology and her MA in Counselling Psychology. Rachel has experience working at a sexual assault center, helping women escape domestic violence, and has facilitated group therapy.
Unfortunately, Rachel will be moving and will only be seeing clients until the end of October, 2023.
