Laura Proctor, RCC

Laura specializes in working with youth (ages 13+) and individual adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, self-harm, relational issues, low self-esteem and have experienced trauma. Laura also works with clients who are interested in personal growth.

Laura views each person as unique and capable of change and believes that every person has the strength and resources within themselves to grow and heal. Laura uses an integrative approach to counselling in order to provide treatment to suit each client’s unique needs. This may include person-centred, experiential, cognitive-behavioural, trauma-informed and strength based approaches. Laura aims to provide tools help clients to cope effectively with life’s stressors. Laura’s goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to process emotions freely and help client’s navigate various challenges that life can bring.

Outside of sessions you may find Laura scaling a mountain or relaxing near an ocean view. Laura has a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife, loves crafting and meeting new people.

Background & Education

Laura is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#12929). She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Social Development Studies & Psychology along with a Diploma in Social Work and Masters of Counselling Psychologydegree from Trinity Western University.

Laura  has 8+ years of experience working with youth who struggle with self-harm, anxiety and depression. For the past 3 years Laura has begun working with adults who struggle with relational issues, low self-esteem and who are interested in personal growth. Laura has also used her expertise to train student counsellors at the university level.
